Say Hello to Sunshine is the second studio album by American rock band Finch, released on June 7, 2005. This album signaled a sharp departure from the band's last release, What It Is to Burn. Say Hello to Sunshine introduced a harder, gritty sound, with more screaming and a less of a alternative rock sound compared to earlier songs such as "Letters to You".[2] The album received mixed reactions. Some were disappointed, having been expecting a similar sound to their previous, whereas others embraced the change in direction. The album was produced with Jason Cupp (The Kite-Eating Tree, The Valley Arena), who also produced the band's self-titled EP.
In 2006, Finch announced an indefinite hiatus[3] - this resulted in Say Hello being regarded as the last release by the band. However, in late 2007, the band officially ended their hiatus and have since released a new EP in July 2008. They then split up again in 2010 in the midst of creating their 3rd album.
Note
It is believed that all the album's songs were written about an anonymous bullied teenager from South Hill, Virginia who developed Schizophrenia and later committed suicide (sometime in late 2004)
